If you are a summer traveler, we are here to tell you that you’re really missing the BEST time on the Emerald Coast – the Fall! Not only are the beaches empty as everyone gets back to school, the sunsets are the best this time of year, and with the cooler weather brings on a variety of outdoor events that we consider our must attend fall events in Destin Florida. Read on to learn more about each one!

We start with the Bloody Mary Festival, happening 11am-2pm on October 7, 2017 at the Market Shops in Sandestin. The best part (besides the Vodka)? All proceeds go to benefit Habitat for Humanity Walton County. “Guests will enjoy live music by the Luke Langford Band, craft brews courtesy of Grayton Beer Company, photo booth by Epic Photo Co., a Bubbly Bar, Hilton Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort Hydration Station, food for purchase by Back Beach Barbecue and The Hub, and much more!” says Jessica Proffitt Bracken, owner of Proffitt PR – creator and organizer of the Bloody Mary Festival. “General Admission Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. A limited number of VIP Tickets are available for $100, which includes valet parking, an exclusive entry including elevated bites, cocktails, TVs streaming SEC Football and much more.” Preorder your tickets now by clicking here!

Up next, we visit the 39th Annual Destin Seafood Festival on the Destin Harbor Boardwalk – a weekend full of entertainment on 4 stages, live music, arts, crafts, and fresh seafood. The event starts Friday October 6th and runs both Saturday and Sunday 10/7-10/8 as well. Admission is free, and VIP tickets are available as well. With a great music lineup, and an incredible participating restaurant list, it’s easy to see why this is one of our must attend fall events in Destin Florida.

Baytowne Beer Festival is our next event, happening the following weekend October 13th-14th, 2017 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin. If you’re a beer lover, this event is a must for you! Attendees will receive a special event tasting cup to sample over 100 domestic and international craft beers. “There are so many breweries and samples to try, this festival is a great way to get out of your ‘beer comfort zone’ and try something new,” says Julie Stuckey, the event organizer. “The festival features local breweries as well as international brands, so it’s a great mix of seasonal brews to discover.” Food is available to purchase, along with Live Music to enjoy so it’s recommended to buy your tickets in advance as this one will sell out!

Our next event, the Best Of The Emerald Coast, is a celebration of the best businesses in our area. The Best of the Emerald Coast winners will be on display showcasing why our community felt they deserved this honor. The public is invited to an evening of food, fun, fashion and entertainment benefitting the Junior League of the Emerald Coast, which is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting volunteerism, improving our community and developing the potential of women. “Its a casual environment with an upscale experience that is fun for all ages and the entire family,” says McKenzie Burleigh Lohbeck, Vice President of Roland Publishing who organizes the event. “Guests will have the opportunity to visit over 100 of our Best of Winners booths to sample and experience the many flavors of the Emerald Coast.” Be sure to come hungry, the food and drink samples will be overwhelming!

We wrap up our fall event list with another favorite, the Blues, Brews, and BBQ festival from 11am-4pm on November 4, 2017 at Harborwalk Village in Destin. Area restaurants will compete in a spirited and fun BBQ competition, offering samples of creative BBQ styles and signature coastal food for attendees to enjoy. Besides all the food to sample, enjoy live music on the main stage while you walk, munch, and drink. Follow their Facebook page for advance ticket purchase information!

All these must attend fall events in Destin Florida are just one reason why fall is the best season on the Emerald Coast. Make plans to join us on one or two of these events and we promise you won’t be disappointed!
