Often times when people come on vacation, they hope to try some new cuisine they can’t get back home. For us on the beach, that’s usually seafood, but more specifically something like Oysters. Here we’ve compiled the best places to eat oysters in Destin Florida so you can choose wisely and have a great experience right off the bat.

Shunk Gulley
Named after the “hard to find” reef in the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf Place’s newest Oyster Bar boasts not only a killer view, but also some of the best oysters we’ve had in our area. Get them naked or grilled, with two of their specialties including the Bacon Cheddar Jalapeno or the Garlic Parmesan. They’re located on the main corner in Gulf Place off Scenic Hwy 30A with a parking lot available. Don’t forget to try some of their delicious drinks as well!

Boshamps
Calling all seafood lovers! Boshamps is YOUR PLACE. We always start out with a dozen of their oysters and have yet to be disappointed. With a very different variety than what you’re used to, check out their menu online to decide what you want. Try something new: we’re partial to the Oysters Bienville, baked with gulf shrimp, lump crab, and Bienville sauce.

Royal Palm Grille
Located on Scenic Hwy 98 in Destin, Royal Palm Grille has a killer view of the Gulf from both their inside restaurant and their new waterfront dining deck. Pair that with the RPG baked Oysters and you’ve got yourself one happy dinner date. Post meal, head across the street to their beach bar for an evening cocktail to watch the sunset. It doesn’t disappoint!

Boathouse Oyster Bar
Known as a local favorite, this dive bar is a must stop. With live music every night, you can always find a crowd and a cold drink to share a good time with. Guests come from far and wide to order up some Boathouse Oysters, so it’s no surprise how delicious they are. Served naked, baked or grilled, try a new flavor you’ll be sure to love.

There you have it! Check out our restaurants page for additional suggestions, and leave us a comment telling us YOUR favorite oyster bar!
