August Events on the Emerald Coast

With Summer coming to a close: Memorial Day & 4th of July in the past, and the kids going back to school just around the corner – all of us here at Gibson Beach Rentals have something to be excited about: the month of August. August happens to be an exciting month with lots of events happening on the Emerald Coast, making sure to keep you entertained all the way through until Labor Day!

Boat Week on the Emerald Coast

What: A week-long boating celebration August 7 – 10th. It starts with the Blues, Brews, & BBQ Kickoff party at Ajs on the bayou and ends with the Emerald Coast Poker Run also known as “The Big One.” Boat week activities and events were created for the participation of ALL types of boats & boaters benefitting the Emerald Coast Foundation. Last year, they raised over 2.5 million dollars for children’s charities. The perfect combination of having fun on the beautiful waters of the Emerald Coast and helping a local charity.

Paddle at the Porch

What: Grab your boards and head to the Back Porch Seafood & Oyster Bar August 17th for the 8th Annual Paddle at the Porch! What is it you ask? One of the Emerald Coast’s most fun Paddle Board Race featuring a Kids’ Fun Paddle, 1-Mile Beginner Ride, 3-Mile Recreational Race, and 6-Mile Elite Race. Races will be followed by awards.

Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam

What: Join your favorite country music stars for the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam a 3- day Country Music Festival in Panama City Beach August 30th – September 1st. The event headliners include Tim Mcgraw, Jason Aldean, and Kid Rock. The event has 3-day passes starting at $179.

Labor Day Weekend @ Harborwalk Village

What: Summer may be coming to an end, but you can say your goodbye’s with live music and sunset watching all weekend long and a fireworks display on Sunday, September 1st at the  Harborwalk Village.

 

Baytowne Art Walk

This Labor Day weekend, August 30-September 1,  head on over to the Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin for its annual Art walk! Each night from 5-10 pm you can stroll through Baytowne listening to live music (for free) and check out the beautiful art from local and regional artists.

With Labor Day weekend marking the end of summer, you are sure to find plenty of activities that the entire family can join in on.
