Exploring Hwy 30A

Exploring Hwy 30A

Did you catch the first part of our series? We toured you through the beautiful Gulf Place, Blue Mountain Beach and Grayton Beach areas of Scenic Hwy 30A, and now we are ready to continue on down the road into Seaside, Rosemary Beach, and Alys Beach.

The next stop on our journey is the beautiful Seaside, Florida. It’s most famously known for it’s role in The Truman Show, where the entire movie takes place. Think white picket fences, perfect neighborhoods, and palm tree lined streets. It truly is straight from a movie scene! One of our favorite stops is Airstream Row, with a variety of food and beverage options including dessert and donuts (5 Daughters Bakery is top notch!). Our next stop is Bud and Alley’s rooftop bar, with an insane view of the Gulf and delicious cocktails. Visit the iconic Post Office, stroll through the shops of Seaside, and take your photo with the popular Beach Access pavilion to complete your stop in Seaside.

Further down the road we run into Seacrest/Seagrove area, a quick stop along the way. Just a few shops and hangout spots here, one of our favorites being 723 Whiskey Bravo. Their rooftop dining deck and bar has a killer view and often has live music available. Inside seating is open as well with a killer happy hour – definitely worth having a quick drink before moving on.

Alys Beach is next up and this one stands apart from the rest. A town built on clean lines and a modern vibe, enjoy all the white buildings and décor that line the streets. Take a dinner stop at George’s restaurant, one of the first businesses in the area (the food is amazing!). After dinner, snag a cocktail at NEAT Bottle Shop next door, the home of fabulously unique cocktails. You’ll also want to see the famous lawn with a beach access, the shot that represents Alys Beach so well.

Rosemary Beach is our last stop and is hands down a must visit. This quaint little town is easy to get lost in, making you forget about the world around you. Local restaurants and shops line the main street, brick buildings add to the warm vibe and the wide open grassy lawns house families playing and riding bikes. Our must stops are Amavida Coffee, Cowgirl Kitchen, and the Havana Beach Club at The Pearl. If you’re here on the weekends, the Farmer’s Market in Rosemary Beach is a fun Saturday morning activity, browsing the rows of small local shops for fruit, veggies, desserts, goodies and more.
