Almost all of Gibson Beach Rental properties are located inside Sandestin or Tops’L resort properties, which makes accessing the beach super easy. Take a shuttle or walk to the nearby water and enjoy a day in the sun. Even with 24 miles of sugar-white sand and emerald green water available, beaches can still be packed with people so plan accordingly. Lay out in the sun, build a sandcastle, play some cornhole, ladder ball, or start up a game of beach volleyball – the possibilities are endless!
Destin is known as the World’s Luckiest Fishing Village, so why not try your hand at catching some fish? Many of the charter fishing companies that run out of Destin will offer a family-friendly option so the kids are welcome to come as well. Destin Inshore Guides has a fishing tour in the Bay only, where the water is calmer and more conducive to kids fishing. Ask them about their options, depending on the age of your children and what would work best.
Boat/Jet Ski Rental
If you’re more adventurous and want to rent a boat or jet ski on your own, there are plenty of options to do just that. We recommend using Destin Vacation Boat Rentals who can connect you to a variety of companies and their availability all at once. Rent a Pontoon Boat and hit up Crab Island, grab a Jet Ski and fly through the Gulf, or simply take a quiet tour along the coast to see the sites.
Another fun way to see the coast from the other side is to go Parasailing! Fly high above the water on a parachute pulled by a boat and enjoy the view for miles. This experience is sure to leave lasting memories for years to come. Check out Gilligan’s Watersports, they offer a discount for Gibson Beach Rental customers, so check out the app for more details!
Big Kahunas WaterPark
For a fun change of pace from the beach, Big Kahunas Waterpark is the place to go. With over 40 different water play areas, rides, slides, and pools, there is something for everyone. Enjoy the giant wave pool or relax in the easy-goin’ Lazy River; scream down the 5-story Jumanji, or scream along the Maui Pipeline; fly the Skycoaster or play miniature golf. Mark off an entire day here to be able to experience everything! The park is fairly easy to navigate, we recommend getting a locker for your valuables and setting up camp in a common location that your group will be able to find and meet back up after waterslides, etc. There are no outside food or beverages allowed inside of the park but they have food items including hamburgers, pizza, nachos, & popcorn. Getting an icee or dip n dots on a nice warm spring day in between slides is also a nice treat.
Grab the family and jump aboard a 100-foot U.S. Coast Guard-approved pirate cruise ship. The Buccaneer Pirate Ship Cruise begins in Harborwalk Village and cruises along the coast while providing an interactive experience for guests, including sword fights, water gun battles, storytelling, singing, dancing, and treasure hunts. Restrooms, snack items, and adult beverages are also available onboard.
